Environment
The vitality of any community is directly linked to the health of its environment. we firmly believe that no community can truly flourish if its surroundings are marred by degradation and decline. Our multifaceted programs for community welfare operate together with our environmental protection and reclamation programs. Recognizing the imperative of a sustainable future, we’ve aligned our efforts to support the restoration and protection of our planet’s precious resources.
Key Program
Health
Giving Global work to improve the access to quality healthcare services for the poor and marginalized communities. By identifying the root causes of healthcare challenges, we work at the individual, community, and systemic levels to develop innovative solutions and help implement quality healthcare services. The ambit of our work includes improving of maternal and reproductive health, child health and nutrition, and early identification and treatment of communicable diseases.Today, nearly 15,000 children under age 5 will die of mostly preventable causes, such as diarrhea, malaria, and pneumonia. We help communities to build and strengthen essential health services and access to good nutrition to achieve health for all. We focus on ensuring child and maternal health by promoting health and nutrition practices and preventing major causes of disease.
Key Program
Education
58 million primary-school-age children are not enrolled in school; 53 percent of these are girls. These children are at greater risk for exploitation, child marriage, and lower income-earning potential. We address barriers to education and work with communities and local governments to improve the quality of education children receive.
Key Program
Economic empowerment
Nearly 650 million people worldwide are living below the international poverty line of less than $2.15 a day. When you’re that far behind, it’s hard to get ahead. That’s why we help families break the cycle of poverty by providing access to small loans, business training, savings groups, improved market access, and more to support livelihoods.
Key Program
Hunger and food
Hunger can affect people from all walks of life. Due to regional conflicts, sharply rising costs, extreme weather events, and the social and economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, an unprecedented number of people around the globe — 50 million in 45 countries — are threatened by hunger and starvation. Many poor farmers are unable to grow enough food to feed their own families, much less sell for additional income. We partner with communities to address immediate food needs — and also ensure they’re equipped for the future.
Key Program
Clean Water
More than 800 children under age 5 die every day from diarrhea caused by contaminated water, poor sanitation, and unsafe hygiene. But we believe the global water and sanitation crisis can be solved within our lifetimes. That’s why we’re focused on ensuring clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) for every person in every community we work in, including the most vulnerable populations in the hardest-to-reach places. This work is more important now than ever, since clean water is essential for handwashing and disinfection to prevent the spread of diseases like COVID-19.
Key Program
Disaster Relief
Disaster Management initiative works to provide rapid and effective relief measures to the regions impacted by natural calamities. Our strategy encompasses Preparedness, Response, Recovery, and Rehabilitation with an approach of ‘Building Back Safer’. We use post disaster recovery programming to increase the resilience of buildings and communities to future hazards and raise awareness about disaster management.
Key Program
Disability Inclusion
Around the world 1 billion people live with a disability, and 80 percent of them are in developing countries, with higher levels of disability among women, the poor, and the elderly. This is why we seek to include people with disabilities in all we do not only to meet their needs but to ensure that they are a part of the solution to poverty that we hope to build. Disability inclusion is part of our overall gender equality and social inclusion approach, as a vital part of social inclusion programming. Our work on disability inclusion also considers how intersectionality, gender and other social norms impact the situation for persons with disabilities.
